2013 Winter Mountain Games

2013 WINTER MOUNTAIN GAMES presented by Eddie Bauer
This last weekend I was lucky enough to catch a behind the scenes look at The Winter Mountain Games. Working with The Vail Valley Foundation’s marketing team, main tasks during the event included photography, social media, and posting results to mountaingames.com. Favorite events of mine included the Big Air competition, ski mountaineering, and nightly concerts. I also had an opportunity to shoot some photos and video for GoPro during the event. Using the HERO3, I received my first taste of GoPro awesomeness and look forward to working with them at the upcoming GoPro Summer Mountain Games this June.

Winter in the Rockies will never be the same as professional and amateur athletes converge on the mountains and villages of Vail for a celebration of adventure sports, music, art and the great outdoors. The second annual Winter Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer features competitions in mixed climbing, mountain, Big Air, and dual slalom biking, Nordic and telemark skiing, ski mountaineering and snowshoe racing with $60,000 in prize money on the line, along with a one-day vertical challenge in Vail’s legendary Back Bowls. The winter festival in Vail comes to life with free concerts, films, photo comp an interactive expo area, demo events and of course – dogs. The Winter Mountain Games presented by Eddie Bauer are a project of the Vail Valley Foundation.
